2/ 52 Entrances to condacum – Hofke Janssens

This beautiful house in the centre of our village, dates from the 18th century. The centre even 17th.
It has had many names, amongst others “Hofke Janssens”. It had different destinations too.
We live here now 28 years and we’ve known it to be a fancy restaurant and an insurance/bank office.
The building as well as the garden is classified as heritage as well as protected village view.

    • Thank you. I hope you will have the chance one day. Don’t forget to give me a sign đŸ˜‰ . You are right, much dates here from very early times.
Right in front of our house, there is an old, roman well that was used for baptising by the Romans. Must take a picture some day…

    • Hello Julia. Thanks for your visit. How great to have history so near. I would love that. I’ve always been in love with historical sites, ruins, memorable buildings… The stories behind them… Now I’m discovering the village where we live. A lot has been excavated here. It used to be a roman site. So nice to read you like this xo
